Recognizing Dog & Cat Emergencies

Please contact our hospital immediately if your pet is showing any of the following signs:

• Difficulty breathing
• Choking
• Heavy bleeding
• Blunt force trauma (hit by a car, fell from height)
• Possible broken bones
• Difficulty standing or walking
• Appears disoriented, head tilted
• Rapid or irregular heartbeat
• Foaming at the mouth
• Bleeding from nose and/or mouth
• Blood in stool
• Vomiting
• Loss of consciousness
• Unusually high temperature
• Seizures

If our animal hospital is closed and your pet needs immediate care, please contact or take your pet to Nashville Veterinary Specialists right away. They are open 24 hours on weekends and open on all major holidays.
