Surgical and anesthetic procedures at OPAH are performed with your pet’s safety and comfort as our highest priority.

Anesthesia is never totally risk free. Before any anesthetic procedure we evaluate your pet’s health through a physical exam and review of medical records. We then make recommendations for pre anesthetic blood work or other tests as indicated. Lab tests prior to surgery can identify pets at risk for complications and help us determine which anesthetic techniques are best for your pet.

We perform a wide variety of soft tissue surgeries utilizing current techniques. Pets requiring certain orthopedic and other specialized surgeries may be referred to a surgical specialty practice.
